Description
This dragon is based off the Hungarian Horntail CGI from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
I've named him Goulash, which is a hungarian dish (nationality pun); it was the only name I could really think of. He's still considered a hatchling (if here were real). Such a viscious cutie!
It's sculpted from stoneware clay - massive ... 13 inches tall, 19 inches lengthwise, and 14 inches from back to front. Hollow, he weighs about 35 pounds, maybe (if he were solid he'd weigh a helluva lot more). Painted with non-glossy stoneware paints and buffed with brown shoe polish. His eyes are those cheep plastic jewels you can buy at any craft store (but they've got a nice effect).
Took me about a month or so to finish (about 2 1/2 hours a day).
Please, critique!
I'd like to learn as much about sculpting from my deviant buddies as I can! Thanks!

Lovely job on the skin texture; it can certainly take a lot of time and fine detail work to cover the entire skin with pattern like that.
That does sound massive; 35 pounds for something semi-hollow is certainly not something to scoff at! Great scale shape on the bridge of the nose, and horn-like texture on the spikes.
If I were to offer critique, it would be in the colouration of the eye. The colour itself looks great, and even the idea of a pupil-less eye is a solid one (no pun intended), especially for creatures that one might consider 'beasts'. However, (and it could just be a trick of the photograph, its' hard to tell), the splotches of different colour on the eye seem to give it a shape that is less than round. If it were one solid colour, or shaded more darkly around the outside to give it a more 'round' look while leaving the center of the eye a lighter colour, it would appear to be more of an eye-shaped eye.
Great colouration on the rest of the body; it looks very natural and the two separate tones blend quite nicely where the scale patterns change.
Keep up the lovely work;
-Lady Serpent
