Welcome back fellow deviants to another edition of Hidden Emoticons! Thank you to a stranger ...

Today around 16:50 today, 28th of March, 2013, a remarkable act of kindness happened to me. As I was waiting for one of my friends  at the California Tortilla in the Maryland Rockville Town Center, I sat at a table with my yellow work folder before me. I'd been up since 1am and was very exhausted by this point. Dozing out of consciousness I propped my elbows on the table, rested my head in my hands, and closed my eyes. I was brought back to full awareness by a woman, the mother of three children from the table across from mine. She asked me if I was okay and if she could get me anything to eat or drink. I replied, "no", as politely as I could with a soft smile and told her that I was simply waiting for my friend, that he'd be there soon. I was honestly flattered by her offer. A few minutes later she returned to my table with a chocolate chip cookie and a bottle of Snapple green tea; she told me that my burrito would be brought to me soon. I was absolutely dumbstruck and thanked her as best my brain would let me form the words. She told me, I don't recall verbatim from being in shock, that everything'll turn out alright. Something along those lines. I couldn't believe such an act of kindness. I was not depressed or sad, simply waiting for my friend so that we could discuss business. Words cannot describe how thankful I am of her generosity.

If anyone knows who this woman is I speak of, please tell her of my sincerest thanks. She is a kind woman. I would love to thank her in person if given the chance and repay her what she spent on my meal (it was delicious).

So, to that kind mother, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

For those of you who haven't read my earlier 'Hidden Emoticon' journals and are new to this jazz, to access these cool characters, here's what you need to do ...

Start out by typing in ':icon', then type in a keyword of the general message you're trying to give, and finally end with 'plz:' (please, because you should always use your manners). Remember that there are NO SPACINGS! That's that. Easy as pie.

I met James Gurney today - briefly, but still.

My illustration professor set up his lecture in the Technical Building, in room 136, at the Rockville campus of Montgomery Community College. From 2:30pm to 4:30pm I was mesmerized with awe, listening to him speak of his experiences and artistic methods of creating such phenomenal masterpieces (and feverishly taking notes) ... for what you ask ... his most famous work, 'Dinotopia'! When I was a little girl I wanted to be a paleontologist - until I decided that it'd a lot more fun to make the dinosaurs. Dinosaurs and the such extinct beasties have always been a huge influence on my inspiration, and to meet someone with a vast knowledge of dinosaurs who also has that caliber of artistic skills, meeting him face-to-face, was an absolutely amazing experience. At the end of his lecture I bought his first book of 'Dinotopia' and he signed that for me as well as my concept sketchbook. The whole time I was grinning from ear-to-ear. I'll remember that moment forever.

Working on new projects. Super busy ... super happy.
Business is looking promising.
